Fourth Laboratory

Laboratory Overview

The fourth laboratory conducts on reasearch for multi-scale ocean modeling. We develop a state-of-the-art ocean model (MRI.COM) that is suitable for many purposes seamlessly, ranging from the basin-scale climate system to the harbor-scale coastal variability, using a nesting technique, small-scale parameterization, and so on. The use of the ocean model simulation not only complements the sparse observed data such as oceanic carbon distributions, but also enables us to improve our understanding and prediction of the oceans, which helps to make the marine environmental information more reliable.
