Our mission is to improve the accuracy of monitoring and prediction of severe events such as typhoons and torrential rains. To this end, we advance data assimilation technologies for broad spatial scales ranging from global to mesoscale. We also develop monitoring and forecasting technologies exploiting, in an integrated manner, both satellite-borne and ground-based remote sensing together with in situ data.
