Projection of change of local climates around Japan due to global warming is one of the most important targets of the project. We are developing a cloud-resolving regional climate model with 4km grid interval to project change of small scale atmospheric phenomena and climate change over complex terrain around Japan. The cloud-resolving regional climate model needs lower and lateral boundary conditions of high horizontal resolutions. We are also developing a high-resolution coupled atmosphere-ocean regional climate model to supply lateral and lower boundary conditions of the cloud-resolving regional climate model. Also we are making evaluations of the models and analyses of the experiment for local climate projection due to global warming.
