Ground-based remote sensing and in-situ measurements

@MRI has developed and uses a synergy ground-based observation system consisting of multi-wavelength passive and active remote sensors and in-situ measuring instruments to investigate the vertical profiles of meteorological parameters and the inner (vertical) structures of aerosols, clouds and precipitation.

@The data collected are used to study cloud and precipitation climatology, to validate the performance of NHMs, and to evaluate the appearance frequency of clouds suitable for glaciogeneic and hygroscopic seeding in weather modification projects.
