Ground based Monitoring Observation of CCN/IN
Variation of the aerosol concentration at Tsukuba

@In order to characterize the abilities of atmospheric aerosol particles as cloud condensation nuclei (CCN) and ice nuclei (IN), we have been monitoring them by using a CCN counter (CCNC), continuous flow diffusion type IN counter (INC), scanning mobility particle sizer (SMPS), optical particle counter (OPC), and aerodynamic particle spectrometer (APS) from March 2012 at Tsukuba (36.06‹N,140.13‹E), Ibaraki prefecture.

@Atmospheric aerosol particles are drawn from outside the building through the 10 um cut inlet and the piping penetrating the roof, and are supplied to the instruments through the stainless steel and conductive tube to isokinetically sample the aerosol particles from the flow in the piping. The monitoring system and some results obtained from March 15th to May 21th in 2012 are shown below.
