We of the forth research laboratory have developed the MRI Earth System Model (MRI-ESM) by collaborating with members of the other laboratories and departments of MRI. Our research outcomes on global warming simulations and model-output analyses for climate variation mechanisms contributed to the IPCC (the Inter governmental Panel on Climate Change) fifth assessment reports. The model developed participated in the latest Coupled Model Intercomparison Project (CMIP), as well.

The MRI-ESM is now being developed further not only for the reproducibilities of the climate changes but also for the accuracy of the short-term and seasonal predictions. Our current researches are undertaken for high predictability of the climate variations and the environmental changes on time scales for years and longer.
