Teruo Aoki received Ph.D. in Polar Science from The Graduate University of Advanced Studies, Japan in 2000. He is currently a head of Research Laboratory at Meteorological Research Institute. His research interests are optical properties of snow, satellite remote sensing of cryosphere, and aerosol-snow/ice interaction and the relevant climate impact. His experiment areas are Antarctica, the Arctic, the Himalayas, and Hokkaido in Japan. He received the Science Award of the Japanese Society of Snow and Ice in 2005 and the Award of the Meteorological Society of Japan in 2008.
